Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to complete Level 1 first?
Level 1 is recommended as it covers foundational concepts. However, students with prior Scratch experience (6+ months of regular use) may be able to start at Level 2 after an assessment. Contact us to discuss your child’s background.

Scratch Level 2 is designed for children ages 8-12 (Grades 3-6). Students should ideally have completed Level 1 or have equivalent Scratch experience.

Level 1 covers foundations and intro AI. Level 2 advances to complex arcade mechanics, physics simulations, competitive games, and applied AI projects. Level 2 students build more sophisticated, polished games.

Students build 12+ projects including arcade classics (Ghost Catcher, Flappy Bird), sports games (Football Goalie, Tetris), shooters (Space Shooter), and AI-powered games using image recognition and chatbots!

Scratch works on any computer (Windows, Mac, or Chromebook) with internet access. A laptop or desktop with a larger screen provides the best coding experience.

After completing both Scratch levels, students are ready for text-based programming! We recommend Python for Kids or Roblox Studio (Lua) as the next step in their coding journey.
